These glass filled nylon irrigation saddles were designed to replace the original aluminium gravity die casting. The saddles were provide with a complex molded metal insert and rubber gaskets and designed to take a load exceeding 2 Tons when towed by a tractor. When used with the clamp and hook assembly they could be chained to create a long pipeline for sprinklers attached to the threaded outlet at the top. The screwed end plates retained a custom designed rubber ring that sealed under pressure.
